2. End Stiles and Center Stiles

3. Weatherstripping and Bottom Seal
The flexible rubber or vinyl strips that seal the gaps between the door and the frame.

4. Hinges
Hinges connect the horizontal panels together, allowing the door to bend as it rolls up the curved tracks. A standard four-panel door uses several hinges: end hinges (attached near the edge at the roller brackets) and center hinges (in the middle between panels).
Hinges are numbered by position. The bottom hinge (#1) has the most stress. Higher-numbered hinges experience progressively less load.

5. Rollers

6. Tracks
The tracks are the steel channels that guide the door from vertical (closed) to horizontal (open). The track system consists of:

8. Torsion Springs
Mounted on a steel shaft above the door opening. As the door closes, the springs wind, storing mechanical energy. As the door opens, the springs unwind, releasing that energy to help lift the door.

9. Torsion Spring Shaft (Tube)
The steel shaft that runs through the springs, supported by bearing plates at each end. The shaft transfers spring force to the cable drums.

10. Cable Drums

11. Lifting Cables

12. Center Bearing Plate and End Bearing Plates
These support the torsion shaft at the center and ends. They contain sealed bearings that allow the shaft to rotate smoothly.

13. Spring Anchor Bracket (Center Bracket)
The stationary bracket at the center of the shaft where the springs are anchored. It holds the inner ends of the springs fixed while the outer ends wind and unwind.

14. Extension Springs (Older Systems)
